UFSC has 37 researchers among the world’s most influential
The Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC) has 37 scientists across 13 disciplines among the world’s most influential researchers. The impact of their work was measured and published by Research.com, a platform specialized in research performance metrics
Compared to the 2025 edition, which featured 34 UFSC researchers, this year’s ranking reflects an increase in citations of work associated with UFSC and its scholars, according to Research.com’s evaluation criteria. In the field of Chemistry alone, 13 researchers stood out, with a total of 2,912 publications recorded.
In the national ranking by discipline, UFSC placed third in Chemistry and fifth in Electrical Engineering. The University also stood out in other fields, such as Engineering, Medicine and Neuroscience.
According to Research.com, UFSC researchers have produced a total of 8,481 publications, with an average of 223 publications per researcher. The total number of citations among the highlighted scientists is 340,933, with an average of 8,972 citations per researcher.
