For the ninth consecutive time, Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC) is one of those ranked in the QS World University Rankings. The survey places UFSC among the thousand best universities in the world. The institution is still ranked between 801st and 1000th, the same as in the previous edition. Only 27 Brazilian universities are on this list.
The ranking is prepared annually by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), a British company specialized in education. The data are result from research with more than 45 thousand employers and 94 thousand specialists all over the world.
The evaluation is conducted through six criteria, including academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty/student ratio, citations, international faculty index, and international student index. Out of these six indicators, academic reputation is UFSC’s strongest.
